The University of Ioannina joins the top 1.000 universities in the world, occupying the 555th place (up 30 places from last year), according to the global university ranking published by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR). Furthermore, among Greece’s leading universities participating in the ranking, the University of Ioannina landed on the fourth place, its highest ever rank.
The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) publishes the only global university ranking that measures the quality of education and training of students as well as the prestige of the faculty members and the quality of their research without relying on surveys and university data submissions.
The methodology employed in the ranking is based on objective and robust indicators, such as the quality of education, the alumni employment, the quality of teaching, the number of publications and their influence, the number of citations, the broad academic impact (h-index) and the number of international patent filings.
