IMAEF is a forum for the exchange and fertilisation of ideas, knowledge and scientific achievements in economics and finance. During the conference, academics, researchers and practitioners will present novel developments in applied economics and finance and will discuss on currently debated issues.

The program includes high quality presentations. Senior invited lectures will address topical applied economics and finance issues.

On 16 and 17 December 2019, the Department of Agriculture University of Ioannina, being the Lead Partner, held the kick-off meeting of the project “CheeseCulT – Cheese route as an innovative cultural heritage driving force for rural tourism development in the cross-border area”, which is co-funded by the Interreg IPA II Greece-Albania Programme 2014-2020, through European Union and National Funds of Greece and Albania. CheeseCulT is designed to capitalize the CB area’s agri-food focus on dairy production, and incorporate it to local sustainable tourism on a viable development plan for the regions involved.

On the Kick-off meeting, all partners’ organisations participated; apart from the LB (Department of Agriculture, University of Ioannina), the “Hellenic Agricultural Organization – Demeter: Dairy School of Ioannina”, as well as the two Albanian partners, the University “Eqrem Çabej” Gjirokastër and the ARGJIRO attended the meeting.

Several topics were discussed during the meeting. Apart from organizational aspects of the project, that will end in November 2021, partners also planned and prepared detailed framework of activities of the strategic partnership and agreed on common goals and results with respect to the creation of the Cheese route at CB area. In the next few months, several results from the first stages of the project will be published. Namely, the results from the diagnosis studies of Primary Sector Value Chains in Greek-Albanian CB area will be presented, leading to the design/ mapping of a joint Cheese Route.

Although there were only few days and many topics to discuss, all partners came back with new ideas and motivation, hoping to keep up with such a good work within the project duration.

It is a pleasure and honour to welcome you all to Ioannina, the capital of Epirus and active cultural and scientific hub. Together, we shall provide focused training and information in key areas which are often not adequately covered in Oncology Curriculae or are by their nature difficult to teach in structured educational programs. We hope you enjoy this initiative, as well as the mountainous landscape of Epirus with its monuments, lakes, castles and churches.

This year’s Masterclass will be held in collaboration with the Department of Medical Oncology of the University of Ioannina DMO -UOI) and the Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research (SAKK) with the support of the Hellenic Group of Young Oncologists (ONEO). Critical thinking and analysis, interaction and networking are the foundations and also the aims of this educational outreach, emanating from an academic oncology department of the Greek North-West. We are looking forward to social/scientific networking between young Greek and Swiss trainees and faculty, as well as an exchange of variations and common patterns in way oncology and research are practiced. The Congress organized by the Forum of the Adriatic and Ionian Chambers of Commerce and Arta Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Ioannina University (Uniadrion member) and Split Chamber of the Economy (Forum AIC member). It aims to provide a cross-regional perspective on the best practices and prevalent challenges in scaling up women’s economic empowerment and entrepreneurial activities, in the field of alternative tourism in the Adriatic and Ionian Macroregion.

The event brings together a vast community of actors from across the Adriatic and Ionian area: experts, institutional representatives, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders, all of whom are devoted to the development of women’s entrepreneurship.

Although tourism is already one of the fastest-growing economic activities in the Adriatic- Ionian Region the full potential of the Region is not yet exploited in a sustainable and responsible way (as it states in the EUSAIR Action Plan, Pillar 4 – Topic 1 Diversified tourism offer). The congress will focus on innovation aspects of women’s entrepreneurship, alternative and potentially sustainable forms of tourism and related opportunities.

This edition will continue the tradition of offering state-of-the-art presentations, interactive workshops, and networking sessions. On the 16th and 17th different sessions and workshops will be organized, while on the 18th the Extraordinary Assembly of Forum AIC will be held.

IMA is a biannual series of conferences that started in 1999 and covers all areas of Chemical Analysis, including the development of new techniques, modern trends and applications in a wide range of scientific disciplines. To date many leading analytical chemists have presented their research at IMA meetings.

For the 11th IMA conference, it is our ambition to bring together some of the most talented and innovative analytical chemists from all over the world for an excellent scientific conference on the picturesque city of Ioannina.

The scientific program will consist of keynote lectures, oral and poster presentations, given by a wide mix of scientists ranging from established academics and world leaders in analytical chemistry, all the way through to dynamic and ambitious graduate students. In addition, we aim to attract contributions from commercial organizations, including presentations of new instrumentation, new applications and assessment of future commercial trends and opportunities. We therefore anticipate a very energetic and dynamic scientific gathering!

Nikhil Chopra participates in the international exhibition Documenta 14 that was inaugurated in Athens on April 8th. Nikhil Chopra has just completed his 60 hours long performance for documenta 14 in Athens. Enclosed in a shop on Archemedeous 15 he made drawings of the endless sea using mud and water as his medium. This was Part I of the durational performance “Drawing a Line through Landscape’.

After emerging from the muddy sea, Nikhil Chopra takes on Part 2 of the performance. This time he will make his way by road through Europe from Athens to Kassel from the 13th of May to the 8th of June 2017. He will pitch his mobile room in city squares, abandoned villages and the wilderness, stopping at each location to make drawings on the walls of his tent. Each location also presents it self with an original song that is sung to a prerecorded tune. Each location offers new collaborations with local and home-based artists.

The first stop for the second part of the performance will be in Ioannina, where he will perform a part of the project in the Domboli area on May 15th and 16th in collaboration with the School of Fine Arts of the University of Ioannina.

Eventually Nikhil will complete his performance during the inauguration of Documenta 14 in Kassel, Germany at the platform of the old train station Hauptbahnhof with a series of large drawings that will be sewn together and draped to create one continuous panoramic drawing.

While searching for what we all have in common and art being a language that connects us all, the question that he is in search of is,

“In the mode of a nomad, will performance realize its potential to transform; spaces, places, people and the self? The answer lies in the moment.”

Duration: The perfomance in Ioannina will start on Monday May 15th at 10.00 and it will be continuous until its end on Tuesday May 16th at sunset. The public will be able to visit the space of the old University of Ioannina student residences at Dompoli at any time of the duration of the performance.

Two new linguistic levels are established by the Presidential Decree 60/30.06.2010 (A1 for children 8-12, for adolescents and adults) and C2 (perfect knowledge) while the current levels renamed as follows: A – A 2 (basic knowledge), B – B1 (moderate knowledge), C – B2 (good knowledge), D – C1 (very good knowledge).

At all levels examined the four language skills i.e. listening, speaking, reading and writing and also the level B2, C1 and C2 has been added another skill “the use of language” With the establishment of new levels and levels of Greek language certificate are assigned completely to the levels outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (K.E.Π.Α.).

He.La.S. also holds examinations for the Certificate of Attainment in Greek for professional purposes, on 16th May 2017 (level A2). They are addressed to professionals and businessmen in the European Union who wish to work in Greece and who need to demonstrate competence in the language. Since June 2012, citizens from non-European Union countries may also participate in these exams under the following conditions: a) they only submit their application form to an examination center in Greece, b) they wish to obtain a professional taxi driver’s license or a professional license to work as freelance nurses. The examinations cover three language skills: Listening, Reading and Speaking. Candidates are not examined on Writing. The examinations are held in November, January and May.

The registration cost for each candidate, per level examination, is 65 € for A1, A2, B1 levels and 73 € for B2, C1 and C2 levels. If a candidate wishes to participate in two levels of examination, (s)he should pay the amount of money which corresponds to each level.
