Originally the School comprised the following departments: the Department of Psychology, the Department of Early Years Learning and Care, and the Department of Translation and Interpreting. In view of the aforementioned Law, the Department of Psychology was scheduled to operate in the academic year 2019-2020 and has been in full operation since then. The Department of Early Years Learning and Care was in full operation before the establishment of the School of Social Sciences. The Department of Translation and Interpreting was initially expected to commence its operation at a later date, following a decision by the University Senate. However, a later Senate decision, validated by the Ministry of Education, led to the suspension of the operation of the particular Department[1].<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Currently, the School of Social Sciences comprises the Department of Psychology and the Department of Early Years Learning and Care, located in Ioannina. Studies in these departments last for 8 semesters. With regards to the Department of Psychology and the Department of Early Years Learning and Care, the current Programs of Studies lead respectively to a unified undergraduate degree (ptychio). Overall, the Programs of Study aim to \u2018equip\u2019 students with theoretical as well as practical-applied knowledge. Upon completion of the academic year 2018-2019, the reformed Programs of Studies, developed to abide by the HQA criteria, were submitted and officially approved by the Senate of the University of Ioannina.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The basic principles underlying the Program of Studies of the above Departments reflect elements of modern orientations regarding the respective sciences. The Program of Studies of the Department of Psychology is being currently developed in the context of the most contemporary study programs in psychology, providing practice in parallel with training for psychologists as professionals- licensed psychologists. The Program of Studies of the Department of Early Years Learning and Care has been adapted and formulated appropriately, taking into consideration the aim of the specific Department as this has been revisited and redefined in the wake of the aforementioned Law, namely to effectively operate as a fully functional academic unit of the University of Ioannina. The Programs of Studies are open to elaboration and enrichment in time course taking account of the culture of academic communities and their unique discourses. They are treated as open units subject to change in the framework of understandings developed in disciplinary and interdisciplinary discourses within each subject area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Regarding students\u2019 studies, the priority set by the School involves the development of an academic culture that enhances critical thinking and promotes the scholarly approach to teaching and learning, leading not only to a thorough comprehension of theoretical but also to applied knowledge. L&#8217;\u00c9cole comprend les d\u00e9partements suivants\u00a0: le D\u00e9partement de Psychologie, le D\u00e9partement de Traduction et d&#8217;Interpr\u00e9tariat et le D\u00e9partement d\u2019Education et de Protection de la petite enfance. Compte tenu de la loi susmentionn\u00e9e, le fonctionnement du D\u00e9partement de Psychologie a d\u00e9but\u00e9 au cours de l&#8217;ann\u00e9e universitaire 2019-2020. Le D\u00e9partement d\u2019Education et de Protection de la petite enfance est une \u00e9volution du D\u00e9partement de l&#8217;Enseignement au pr\u00e9scolaire de l&#8217;ancien TEI d&#8217;\u00c9pire, int\u00e9gr\u00e9 dans l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Ioannina, \u00c9cole des Sciences Sociales depuis l&#8217;automne 2018.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dans le cas du D\u00e9partement de Traduction et d&#8217;Interpr\u00e9tariat, selon le Journal Officiel du gouvernement grec 12 \/ 24-1-2020 vol. A, et 111 \/ 12-6-2020 vol. A, sa fonction \u00e9ducative a \u00e9t\u00e9 suspendue et les \u00e9tudiants inscrits ont \u00e9t\u00e9 int\u00e9gr\u00e9s dans le D\u00e9partement de Comptabilit\u00e9 et de Finance de l\u2019\u00c9cole des Sciences Economiques de l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Ioannina.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Les \u00e9tudes dans tous les d\u00e9partements ci-dessus durent huit semestres. En ce qui concerne le D\u00e9partement de Psychologie et le D\u00e9partement d\u2019Education et de Protection de la petite enfance, les programmes d\u2019\u00e9tudes actuels ont \u00e9t\u00e9 approuv\u00e9s par le S\u00e9nat universitaire (r\u00e9union 1068 \/ 27-6-2019) et conduisent respectivement \u00e0 un dipl\u00f4me de premier cycle unique, sans parcours de sp\u00e9cialisation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Les programmes propos\u00e9s par l&#8217;\u00c9cole des Sciences Sociales r\u00e9pondent au besoin de connaissances th\u00e9oriques solidement fond\u00e9es et offrent \u00e9galement aux \u00e9tudiants la possibilit\u00e9 de mise en pratique de ces connaissances.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Les principes de base qui sous-tendent les programmes des d\u00e9partements ci-dessus prennent en compte les orientations courantes des sciences respectives. Les programmes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 adapt\u00e9s et mis en place de mani\u00e8re appropri\u00e9e, en tenant compte de la mission de chaque d\u00e9partement, telle qu&#8217;elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 revue et red\u00e9finie \u00e0 la suite de la loi susmentionn\u00e9e, afin que chaque d\u00e9partement puisse fonctionner efficacement en tant qu&#8217;unit\u00e9 acad\u00e9mique autonome au sein de l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Ioannina. Le programme du D\u00e9partement de Psychologie est actuellement \u00e9tabli sur la base des programmes d&#8217;\u00e9tudes les plus contemporains en psychologie sur l\u2019\u00e9chelle internationale, offrant une formation professionnelle et reconnue par l\u2019\u00c9tat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En conclusion, la priorit\u00e9 des \u00e9tudes, telle que d\u00e9finie par l&#8217;\u00c9cole des Sciences Sociales, implique le d\u00e9veloppement d&#8217;une culture acad\u00e9mique qui valorise la pens\u00e9e critique et encourage une approche scientifique, conduisant ainsi \u00e0 une solide acquisition de connaissances th\u00e9oriques et appliqu\u00e9es.
