The Department is currently housed in buildings \u03a62 and \u03a63, located in the western side of the University campus, about 4 km away from the Ioannina city centre.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Department\u2019s personnel consists of 44 teaching faculty members, 5 research faculty members, 6 technical staff members, and 6 administrative staff members. The Department hosts around 1600 undergraduate students, 100 postgraduate students and 30 PhD students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Department\u2019s purpose is both to provide its students high-quality theoretical education and practical training in Physics and other related fields, and to conduct top-level scientific research.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This Undergraduate Course has a duration of 4 years and leads to a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Physics. It includes 30 core modules covering the basics of the field, as well as 60 elective modules covering a wide range of specialized subject areas. In particular, the Department established a two-semester postgraduate course and written Admission Exams. The Course was amended in the 1990s to link up and constitute a continuation of the relevant Postgraduate Courses.
